meter in mobile Rack for sale;[both monaural];Also in same mount a Langevin
20W monaural Amp.[ww.KT-88 Tubes].thi set-up was originally made for the
3M Co. for demonstration purposes of their audio Tapes in NYC.Extra pinch

Which model magnecord do you have Jon? And which cable (how many pins)?
Need connector cable for portable Magnecord tape player, or source for it.
Magnacord PT63 and PT7-P
I have these and they worked as of 2-years ago. Seems to me that if re-worked, the PT7-P would make a great MicPre.
Local pick-up in Minneapolis
What is this perverse desire to butcher every old piece of electronics into a mic pre? You want a mic pre, build one.
I recently came across a HP 200AB some nimrod made into a mic pre. The case was in better shape than the one on mine so I offered the guy a few bucks for it minus the input transformer, and I guess he was hard up for cash so he sold it. I took the case off it and the power transformer and put the poor beast out of its misery. It couldn't have worked very well. He'd removed and thrown out the variable cap and the HF transformer and the range switch.

Enjoyed your site very much.
The Byer and Rola tape machines are an interesting Austrailan institution. The original Byer 77 from 1955 was influenced by the Magnecord template which Byer industries formally produced under licence.
The Melbourne AES have recently complied an interesting picture archive from the collection of audio pioneer Graham Thirkell.

There is plenty of other interesting info on the Byer recorders online too.
Can anyone supply a diagram for a Magnacord PT6-R preamp?
Looking for schematic for PT 7-R. Can anyone help? Thanks!
