BGW was best known for their range of pro-audio power amps, which sold in pretty good numbers if the quantity of still-surviving units is any indication.  I had not been aware they also made hi-fi kit.  Anyone?

  • This is where I made one of my unfortunate hifi choices. I bought the BGW410 power amplifier in 1977. I used it with a Sansui 8080 receiver until I saved enough money for a stand alone preamplifier. I considered the BGW preamplifier, but gave in to the hifi hype at the time and purchased the Apt Holman preamplifier. I am sorry I ever sold the BGW 410 as it was a great power amplifier. I wonder if I would still be using it if I bought the matching BGW preamp instead.
