Im back from 2 weeks in Japan, time that I primarily spent hunting for records. I returned with dozens of Japanese rock, folk, and soul LPs spanning 1968 thru 1982. Ive assembled the best bits into a 3-hour program and it airs tonight 8:30P EST on @wpkn89.5 FM (CT/long island) and catch it anywhere via WPKN.ORG.
In ten years on-air this is one of the deepest, most obscure dives i have taken, and let me tell you there is some amazing music in here. Some of the tracks are cult collector faves, some are obscure even in Japan, and a lot are probably well-known to older Japanese folks, but all are virtually unheard here in the USA.
