hi…
any info on the akg k140 headphone? i dug mine out of the basement and would like to rejuvenate it.
the foam on the inside is gone. the plastic cushion that touches the ear is cracked in the back.
i would like to replace the cushions. do you know how i can remove them? (pull them off, turn them counterclockwise?)
any help appreciated. thanks.

I doubt parts are still available through AKG but some obscure dealer that has done warranty repair for AKG that’s been around for years might have parts available. Contact AKG and get a list of the oldest warranty centers around the country.
I still own a pair of AKG 140’s. They are in perfect shape. I now use them to play my Kawaii ES920 keyboard in silent mode. I bought them in the 70’s sometime, and paid $35 for them at Sam Goody’s. They were so light I thought the box was empty. Every radio station used this headphone when they were introduced. They still hold up to today’s expensive models. I could be mistaken, but I think AKG was purchased by Samsung. They were Scandinavian when I bought them (to the best of my knowledge). The best thing is I never felt they needed to be upgraded or replaced. They continue to serve me well in recording or just plain listening.
