This is pretty rad. 10×3 (plus echo send) console circa 1955 built for one Jimmy Carroll, who we apparently have to thank for the 10,000,000,0000 sing-along-with-mitch LPs that clog every Salvation Army record-bin from here to Timbuktu. ANYways… check it out here… Dude seems a tad optimistic with the price, considering what the legendary Kearney Barton console went for. (also see here). Cool to check out, nontheless. Angry eBay Listing Of The Week
“This microphone is described as “in working condition” as there are no United States Standards for vintage microphones. To use any other terminology than “in working condition” is highly subjective based upon each individuals opinion of a microphones performance. I have endured countless debates as to the sonic performance of a vintage microphone with infinite varying opinions therefore I will not determine the degree of performance. As always human nature never ceases to amaze us. Therefore, if you believe that by purchasing this microphone that you and or others are going to magically sound better and it is magically going to improve your vocal & equipment abilities you are incorrect. There is not a microphone on earth that magically makes a foreshortened vocalist or recording technician sound any better than they really are. “
Mamamerch, what went
so wrong in your eBay past?
Bitter caveat.
Ending very shortly on eBay: a pair of 1950s Capps Condensor mics PLUS a pair of Altec Lipsticks (no power supplies). Current price for the pile: $231. Caveat emptor, certainly, but for that price yr doin great if even one of ’em works. I am so, so tempted. Click here for the auction. And click here for some period info on the very obscure Capps condensors.
